Email: james@texpest.com Please read also: Gopher Mole Notes Gophers: They create annoying, unsightly mounds. They cause trip hazards for your children, especially the athletic ones. They can even cause erosion problems, which can result in damage to your home and property. Gophers will always be a problem in the sandy soils of East Texas, but you don't have to let them destroy your lawn. One of the services we offer is gopher trapping. There are a number of other "miracle" methods, but most people end up trapping them, or calling someone else to trap them, before they get the results they are looking for. Gopher control options Poison grain gives some good results, but is never conclusive, plus there is a chance that a poisoned rodent could come to the surface and be eaten by the family pet. We offer treatments with grain as well, but can not guarantee the result. This method is priced based on lawn size. Most other methods pose additional problems. You can run a garden hose down the tunnel and flood the critters out, and possibly wash away a substantial portion of your lawns sub surface in the process, and the gopher may not even be present. You can pump carbon monoxide down the hole from an exhaust pipe, which, granted, will kill any critter present, but the gopher may no longer be in the vicinity, or may plug the hole to block the airflow. There are several other dangers inherent to this method. There are devices to fill the tunnel with propane, and ignite it to blow the gopher to kingdom come, and tales of gasoline used in a variety of ways, some endangering the user more than the prey. There are tales of chewing gum, castor oil repellents, (or poisons,) and other home remedies, that may, or may not, have some validity, some of which are confused with methods used to rid the lawn of moles, which is another story entirely. For more on how to tell which problem you have, see our: FAQ . Gopher Trapping: The real solution There are other methods, involving incendiary devices, explosive gasses, chewing gum, you name it! The best method is still the standard trap. It provides visible results, will not poison your pets, wash away your lawn, or cause other damage. It is just the best way! Pricing: We offer a "per head" price of $20.00 plus a $50.00 "stop fee", or "trip fee". The average home lawn will rarely have more than 4 or 5 gophers, and usually less. This price includes a preventative tunnel treatment for any new gophers who mignt stray into the tunnels after trapping. The "stop fee" is applied whether or not any gophers are trapped. A "stop fee, or "trip fee" is for a trip to your location for that day. The tunnel treatment is included in the stop fee. We offer a discount price for neighborhood gopher control. If you and your neighbors want to rid your area of these rodents at one time, we will trap up to 10 contiguous lawns for one stop fee. Each of the homes would be responsible for paying for what is trapped on their own property, and the "stop fee" split between them. This is a great way to bring neighbors together for a common goal! The "stop fee" price is for homes in the vicinity of Tyler. There will be additional charges for homes outside the area. You can call to see if other charges would apply in your case. We also offer a "per thousand square foot" pricing option for both trapping and grain treatments for areas larger than 20 thousand square feet. Interested in trapping them yourself? We have that covered too! How To Trap Gophers is a tutorial we prepaired for our readers.
